What is PPC?


PPCPPC, an acronym for Pay per Click, and otherwise known as Sponsored Listings is where you pay money to the search engines to display adverts on the results pages.


People pay for the ads to be displayed on the search engines results pages when a relevant term has been used in a search.

 

They pay by bidding on keywords, or search terms to trigger the ads. Advertisers

will then pay Google for every time a searcher clicks on the ad to go through to the advertisers’ website… this could be any figure, 20 pence, or 20 pounds per click depending on how many various different factors, but mainly how competitive that keyword is. The more competitive a keyword, the higher the cost of it.
